Wow

I realise I have been terrible with this recently! So here's a quick catch in some things I've been up to...

These are the print and embroidery finals from the second module. I do like them and am proud that I accomplished something completely out of my comfort zone, I do think that I could have been more inventive with presenting my imagery.

Print and Embroidery finals

I am well aware that I've forgotten about blogging for the past two months, everything has been very hectic. So, the next million or so posts are just me catching up and sharing what I've been up to.

Discharge print

Really happy with how this print has turned out. Will be doing a lot of these on my finals when I get back!

Pigment printing

Pigments were this weeks focus. Really enjoyed the vibrancy and textures you could achieve with them!

Ethics

Our professional studies session this week covered the topic of ethics. We were then asked to blog about what interested us about this subject..
I find all aspects interesting but I think the main part of the session that got to me was how easily companies can change the appearance of something and how brutally they do it. I was already aware of the fact that most people we see in magazines are airbrushed or digitally altered in some way but I was not aware of how drastically some are tampered with.

The most unlikely places...

Ran over to Wilko's the other day for something and came across something unexpected. Actual nice gift ware! I've been really struggling to find cheap but stylish wrapping paper ect. this year but I think I've found my savior.

It's all so CUTE!

Libby McMullin

I really love this print by this designer/illustrator! Her work is inspired by folk art which is something that holds a lot of interest to me, from the folk stories to the lovely, faded and magical style of the drawings.
